My original thought (which is by no means original) was to make this a “Grilled” Strawberry and Nutella Cream Cheese Sandwich on sliced bread.
Uno problemo.
When I started to make it I noticed there was no sliced bread to be found in the cafe kitchen cupboards.
I would have made a trip to the grocery store but I had just arrived HOME from there. Ah man….I hate when that happens.
Thankfully this sandwich isn’t about the bread you use!
The breads only purpose here is to hold (and squish) the ripe sliced strawberries, Nutella and low-fat cream cheese closer together!
And the toasted English muffin did a fine job!
It’s crunchy on the outside and if you spread the cream cheese and Nutella on the toasted English muffin while it’s still warm, things get nice and gooey on the inside when you put this sandwich together.
Let that sink in for a moment…
You smiling? Yeah? Then this mess of a sandwich is for you!
Not a healthy way to consume the fresh strawberries that are season right now, but still a win “health wise” when compared to the other ever popular Nutella sandwich on the menu.
