Ready for the Big Game C.C? Should be a good one!
Of course, it’d be better if the Vikings were playing. Or it the beautiful Beyoncé was there to keep my eyes glued to the TV (like last year) during the halftime show. Maybe next year = \.
While I’m waiting for that long-shot dream to come true I’ll focus my attention on all the tasty food. Here are the 10 Super Bowl drinks, snacks and foods that bring this virtual cafe owner to his feet and cheer “YES”!
#1 Crispy Bacon
The quarterback of Super Bowl foods. It makes everything it’s served with taste better!
To cook a lot of bacon, skip the skillet method. Follow the pros and broil it.
How to Broil Bacon
Set the oven to broil.
Line a baking sheet with foil (for easy clean-up).
Lay the bacon slices in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Place in oven and broil until the side facing up looks crisp, about 6 to 8 minutes.
Remove from oven, drain the fat, flip the bacon and broil for 3 to 5 minutes more or until other side is crispy (keep a close eye on it or it’ll burn).
#2 Nacho Dip
The real stuff made from scratch with lots of cheese! —> Black Bean and Olive Nacho Cheese Dip
#3 Chili
Meatless chili on Super Bowl Sunday? Pfft…that’s a food fumble right there.
A chili worthy of Super Bowl Sunday has to have at LEAST two kinds of ground meat stirred into the mix. Cheese on top is optional.
#4 Cold Beer
#5 A Tall Glass of Cold Water
Still the optimal way to reduce the suffering associated with losing track of how many #4’s you’ve consumed during the game.
#6 Foods That Look Like Little Footballs
Who cares how they taste…they look awesome! Here are seven football-shaped food recipes you can try.
#7 Garlic Bread
Extra tasty when topped with spicy Jalapeno Havarti Cheese and chopped green onions.
#8 Pizza
Here’s the quickest way I know of to make your own from scratch. —> Thin Crust Presto Pizza Mia.
#9 Wings
Not all wings are created equal.
When they come frozen out of a box, I pass (too fatty). If they’re from a restaurant known for making good wings, I blitz and grab as many as possible. And if they’re homemade wings, I drop to one knee, bow my head, point to the sky and praise the person who made them!
#10 Humpty Dumpty Party Mix
Cheese sticks, pretzels, corn chips, bbq rings…it’s all in there. One handful and you’re hooked!
